So you’ve built a great website and it looks awesome! Now you’re just waiting for the traffic to flow and the results to come in.
But nothing is happening….
Nobody is visiting your website and you’re not getting traffic from search engines. The only people visiting your site are you and maybe your friends.
The question is, is how do you get your site indexed on google and ranking for keywords? This is a question being asked by many new business owners, bloggers, and entrepreneurs each day. You have this great site but nobody is visiting it.
Below I’m going to show you a few simple SEO strategies that will help you improve the ranking of your website in google.
DISCLAIMER: The thing is, there is no secret way to rank for keywords on google and one thing to bear in mind that it takes time and some effort to do so. But below you can follow a few simple steps that will help you.
It mainly comes down to two things: On page SEO and off page SEO.
On page SEO means optimizing your content so google’s spider bots can go through it easily and make sure the keywords you’re ranking for are positioned well.
You want to make sure the keywords your ranking for are positioned well in your article – preferably the title.
But more importantly, you want to create valued content for your customer. The more value you create the more people will eventually visit your website… Simple.
Off page SEO
This is a fairly simple concept. You essentially want to build enough authority on your site through backlinks from other high authority or relevant websites.
What are backlinks?
Backlinks are incoming links to a webpage. When a page links to any other page, it is called a backlink.
Backlinks make a huge impact on a website’s ranking. Having said that only good quality links will help with ranking your site.
But it mostly comes down to the authority of backlinks to your site, the relevance and the number of backlinks to your site.
Those are just the basics of SEO and how to rank your site. If you are looking to build an authority site I would first just worry about including good and consistent content.
